Hey There!
Fishing was fun. Aaron Wenger is the most interesting person I know. To spend 6 days with him is like being on a 144 hour learning binge. We all had fun.
Today's post is about hate. For some reason we all end up with people in our life who we have a reason to dislike so badly it could be called hate. The problem is that by putting ourselves in this position we end up spending tremendous emotional energy on a non-productive venture. Nothing good comes from this. Years go by, we emotionally damage ourselves and the hate dissipates to the point where the reasons seem foolish.
I don't know the solution, but perhaps we should all think about how to spend less energy on this worthless endeavor.

The comments about Aaron caught my eye. To me Aaron is more than just interesting. He's the reason I started down the engineering path I'm on today. I can't speak for all his other students out there, but his teaching made learning interesting and challenging enough for me to decide engineering was what I wanted to do. I think Aaron has a way of making everything interesting.... at least he used to.... I graduated and transferred from ICC in 1995, so it's been awhile since I've seen him. I'm still helping new engineers understand how things work the same way I learned from Aaron... "Something goes in, crap happens, and something comes out".
As far as hate goes, I've found that forgiving works. You don't have to forget too, but it helps. Of course every case is different but in most cases I can forgive people because they just don’t know what they are doing.
