For several years TBL was a blog where I wrote about a wide variety of topics. Those postings are still in the Blog Archive and many are about professional development for engineers. I am now transitioning TBL to be a place where my current and former students can find information related to job searches.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in aircraft avionics and electrical systems with the ability to troubleshoot failures and suggest design and process improvements. Knowledgeable in the use of various problem-solving and quality engineering methodologies such as process mapping, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, statistical techniques such as Analysis of Variance, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility, and Process Capability studies


Evaluates and manages suppliers to determine strategies and programs which provide greater product quality and efficiencies of company functions by performing the following duties. Gathers information to evaluate supplier processes in order to determine applicable quality and regulatory requirements are met. Develops strategies and programs that improve product quality and reliability. Applies various industrial and quality engineering problem-solving techniques to evaluate product quality and the recommended strategies and programs. Supports others in continuous process improvements, including overall quality management system development. Evaluates new and existing suppliers for ability to meet product quality and quality management system requirements through product and system audits (requires monthly travel). Issues corrective actions and provides proper follow-up for quality system and product nonconformances. Communicates company and quality assurance objectives and goals to suppliers. Provide team support to manufacturing, engineering and supply chain groups. Assist with supplier first article inspections.
